National Parks Trip: Rocky Mountain National Park, Sunday

The kids were delighted with the prairie dog network when we stopped in Colorado to get propane!

We arrived Saturday late afternoon to check in to the Moraine Park campground at Rocky Mountain National Park. When we pulled up to the ranger station, two moose were grazing only about 30 yards away! It was such an awesome sight! I unfortunately did not have access to my camera and I was so excited to see them that I just enjoyed watching them.

We spent our first night "roughing it," with no sewer hook-ups or electricity or water. Of course, the campers are equipped with water tanks and batteries, plus we had generators, so we weren't exactly feeling the pain.

Sunday morning we were up early to enjoy the gorgeous weather! The plan was to go to Estes Park church of Christ and have lunch in Estes Park, then make our way back to do some hiking in RMNP.

Chris gave Noah a Leatherman tool, so Noah was learning to whittle

Before heading into town, we strolled over to the campground amphitheater.

We ate lunch at Mama Rose's, a delicious Italian restaurant recommended to my Mom. It did not disappoint! Then we went back to camp and walked the Sprague Lake loop.

Selfie stick time!

After dinner, some of us took an evening stroll around part of our camping loop.

The most exciting wildlife of the day: cats on leashes!!!

Not to be outdone, deer walked right through our campsite several times while we were there.
