We camped again this Memorial weekend with our church group. This year, I took over the organization of the trip, and I found a place in southern Oklahoma called Chickasaw National Recreation Area. We left Friday morning, pulling Drew & Jamie's trailer, and headed 2 1/2 hours north to the campground. As we were approaching our destination, my phone rang and it was a veterinary clinic in Mansfield, saying someone had brought Addie in and they had scanned her microchip. Chris was less than pleased, let's say, but luckily, Drew was able to pick her up and she kept Bart company for the weekend at his house. We think she got out because Daisy went to Jimmy & Courtney's house for the weekend.
With that behind us, we claimed a campsite and settled right in!

We arrived at the same time as my parents, and people began pulling in soon afterwards.
Drew and Jamie were the last to arrive that evening.

Saturday, we ate a delicious breakfast with everyone and then took it easy for a few hours. We walked around the loop and Noah learned to pedal his bicycle (finally).

Saturday afternoon, it rained on us when we were ready for dinner, so we had to wait it out in our campers! The rain didn't last long, and we were able to sit around the fire that evening, singing and telling stories.
Sunday morning we ate breakfast together again, then had worship.
That afternoon, twelve of us drove into Sulphur for horseback riding!

Sunday night, my dad and Drew caught a tarantula that was near our trailer. (Yikes!) We showed it to all the kids and everyone. So cool! Then on Monday, Clay had to one-up them and caught a BIGGER tarantula, seen below. (Our friend Chris let the thing crawl on him...!!!!!)
Everyone packed up on Monday after breakfast and slowly dispersed, headed home.
We went back a different way so we could stop and see the Travertine Nature Center.
