Yesterday was Noah & Audrey's first day of school!
Noah started 5th grade, which in our district means he is in an intermediate school for 5th and 6th grades. He is on a team and rotates classes, although he stays with the same group of kids in his rotation. In 5th grade, he also gets to do "exploratory" rotations, which means he does 6 weeks each of art, orchestra, band, choir, robotics/technology and science. The exploratory class alternates with PE on an A/B day schedule. He is taking Pre-AP classes, so we'll see how he handles the high expectations and load of homework and projects!
Audrey started 2nd grade and said she had the "best day ever!" Her teacher is super energetic, boisterous and "loud," according to Audrey. She is a veteran teacher and we are thrilled to have her! Audrey has a few friends from last year in her class and today told me that the girl who did NOT like her last year is her friend now.
Their schools are several miles apart and Audrey's day starts and ends 30 minutes before Noah's. She is riding the bus home like usual, but Noah is going to be a car rider. Starting next week, my friend Tanya and I plan to work out a carpool between our kiddos to make life easier all around!
