Jimmy has been making plans for awhile now. He went to a jeweler about a month ago and had a beautiful, high-quality ring designed just for Courtney. He then asked her father for permission to marry his daughter, and the plan was set in motion! Jimmy knew how much Courtney would appreciate being able to share her exciting day with her family, so he called her brother Robert in Del Rio and asked if he and his wife Allison could come up for the occasion. Jimmy then planned the details with Courtney's sister Ashlee--everything from taking pictures to hiding the family to coordinating a picnic with all of us.
Chris, Noah and I arrived at the Lone Oak Winery at noon, followed by Courtney's friend Paola, the Redmans, and Ashlee and her daughter Taya. The Redmans and Noah drove back to a movie theater down the road and waited there with Courtney's parents, sister, brother and brother-in-law. Ashlee and Paola trudged off into the wilderness to hide and snap pictures of the occasion. Stephanie, Chris and I remained behind with Taya to hide and alert the family when the coast was clear, and to set up the tables, food and drinks.

Jimmy told Courtney they were just going to go by the winery for a picnic lunch, so they arrived, chatted a little with Maggie (who was in on it), and then headed out "to find a nice spot." The ladies at the winery had already set up and decorated a pretty table out between the rows of grapevines, complete with a flower arrangement Jimmy sent with us. Jimmy got down on one knee and asked Courtney to marry him! (You'll have to ask him or Courtney for all the details.) Courtney apparently kept asking, "Are you serious?!" and didn't actually say yes until they were walking back. As soon as they came into view of their families, we started cheering and waving, and Courtney burst into tears.
She was so happy to see everyone there and share her special day! We admired the beautiful ring, which Jimmy hadn't shown anybody, and gave our congratulations. It was the perfect day for a proposal!

I believe I speak for the Redman family when I say how blessed we feel that Jimmy met Courtney and that she has been a part of our lives, and will be stuck with us now! Courtney is a sweet, loving, special girl and will make a wonderful wife and, if I say so myself, a great Redman!
Congratulations, Jimmy and Courtney!
