Friday night we loaded up the car, hooked up Drew & Jamie's trailer, and headed to Cleburne State Park. My parents had picked the sites and thrown burgers on the grill, so we ate and got the trailer all set up before dark. Okay, Chris got the trailer all set up. Stephanie joined us a little later and we had a campfire and roasted marshmallows for s'mores, of course! After a very chilly Friday night (we slept without the heater), Saturday warmed up to 80 degrees and was beautiful.

After breakfast burritos, we loaded Noah into the bike trailer and rode to the playground, where all had a good time.
| 23 weeks pregnant and riding a bike? Yep, that's right. |
We then rode over to the lake where there is a new park store (not open yet) and very nice bathrooms with showers, plus a big patio with an outdoor fireplace.

We had Noah's new roller skates from Mom and Dad, so we tried to teach him to skate, but he is very impatient, to say the least. As soon as he decided it was too hard or scary, he quit.
We went back to camp and had lunch and naps, then my parents and I went into town for a stop at Wal-Mart for a few things, including "better" firewood (my Dad). When we got back, we drove to the park entrance and got some obligatory pictures of Noah in the bluebonnets.
We then found a trail head and did some nature hiking--probably over a mile, and Noah was quite the little hiker and trailblazer. We went back to camp and grilled chicken, corn on the cob, and asparagus, plus made a yummy fruit salad, followed by s'mores for dessert! Yum, yum! The fire was far superior, thanks to Dad's firewood investment. As soon as the sun set, it was amazing how much the temperature dropped. Chris took Noah with him to shower, and apparently Noah entertained others in the restroom with his constant line of questioning: "Daddy, why are there two showers? Why are the tiles green, blue, white, green, blue, white?" Sunday morning we got up and had delicious cinnamon rolls, sent by Jamie, then packed up and headed back home in time for me to help the kids at church rehearse for LTC. Hope you enjoy the pictures from our weekend!
