Day 3 Spring Break Road Trip: Caverns of Sonora and Davis Mountains

Monday morning Doug and Chris went into town and got two new trailer tires while we packed up, said goodbye to the peacocks, and got ready to hit the road.

On our way to Davis Mountains State Park, we stopped at a Dairy Queen with a great patio!

We arrived at Davis Mountains State Park Monday afternoon and we were thrilled to see deer hanging near our campsites right away. That evening, some of us were sitting out by the "campfire" (burn ban in the county so we used string lights as our light source to pretend we had a fire) and we heard rustling sounds. We shined a flashlight into the darkness and were surprised by a squadron of javelina! It was terrifying, but we came to learn that the ones in the park are pretty docile and always around, looking for scraps and trash.
