On Saturday, New Year's Eve, Chris, Angela, Alice & Andy woke up before sunrise to make the long drive into the Chisos Mountains and snag a parking spot at the Lost Mine trailhead. We arrived shortly after 7AM and got the last spot! Hiking up the trail was a magnificent experience!

Part of the way up, on the switchbacks, we encountered deer from a close range.
The views became grander the higher we climbed...
About 3/4 of the way, my parents had to stop because the altitude was really getting to my mom.

Finally, Chris and I reached the summit or climax of the trail...
In typical fashion, I ventured to slightly more daring perches.
After our adventure on the trail, we headed back to camp for the much-anticipated CFP Playoff Game: TCU vs Michigan!
Our friends Jace and Joy had graciously loaned us their satellite setup, and Chris got it all working in Drew & Jamie's roomy camper. We sat in there and watched the AMAZING, historic game while eating lasagna and probably disturbing our neighbors. It was so much fun! GO FROGS!
