Friday was our last day in Chicago, and Chris wanted to spend it at the famous Shedd Aquarium.
Shedd Aquarium
We checked out of our hotel and had them hold our luggage, then took the
Metra train to the Shedd. My CityPass included everything, so Chris
bought his ticket and we were able to see a 4D Planet Earth movie, the
new jellyfish exhibit, and a dolphin/sea lion live show.
The Arena before the Show
The aquarium
was really cool; I especially loved the Beluga whales.
We also ate lunch there and it was really delicious, made-from-scratch fresh food.
Our view of Lake Michigan while eating lunch
We were done by about 2:00 and still had lots of time, so we walked around downtown for awhile, savoring our last day before heading home to horrendously hot weather. (Side note: it was 100 degrees yesterday here. September 29th.) We went back to the hotel and got our luggage, and as we were walking out, Regis Philbin and his entourage walked in, right past us! Celebrity sighting in Chicago, can you believe it? We took a cab to the airport without incident, and caught our 8:30 flight home!
Shout out to everyone who helped us in one way or another:
Aarika & Keith for house-sitting and dealing with our crazy animals,
Jamie & Drew for keeping Noah,
Mom & Dad for taking us to the airport EARLY Sunday morning & for keeping Noah,
Jimmy & Courtney for taking Noah to see The Lion King & for picking us up from the airport late Friday,
Dee Jay & Winston for keeping an eye on our house...
THANKS! We had a great time and I have enjoyed sharing my pictures and stories with everyone!
